Organizatorem XVll Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Filmów dla Dzieci Ale kino! jest Ogólnopolski Ośrodek Sztuki dla Dzieci i Młodzieży w Poznaniu. Współorganizatorami są Państwowa Instytucja Filmowa Film-Art. oraz Centrum Kultury "Zamek".

Festiwal odbywa się pod patronatem Ministerstwa Kultury i Sztuki, Komitetu Kinematografii, Miasta Poznania i Telewizji Polskiej SA.

Celem Festiwalu jest prezentacja i promocja wartościowych filmów dla dzieci, stymulowanie ich dystrybucji oraz tworzenie forum z udziałem twórców, krytyków, dystrybutorów, pedagogów i młodych widzów.
Festiwal stanowi także istotny element systemu edukacji kulturalnej poprzez udostępnienie projekcji dziecięcej widowni oraz towarzyszące mu różnorodne formy edukacyjne.

Główną nagrodą Festiwalu są Poznańskie Złote Koziołki dla najlepszego filmu. W konkursie międzynarodowym własną nagrodę przyznaje Międzynarodowe Centrum Filmu dla Dzieci i Młodzieży (CIFEJ). Filmy oceniane są również przez jury dziecięce.

Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmów dla Dzieci Ale kino! jest jedyną tego typu imprezą w Polsce. Festiwal ma ponad trzydziestoletnią tradycję.
Powstał z lokalnych przeglądów filmów animowanych i dziecięcych, odbywających się w Poznaniu w latach 60. Od 1969 roku organizowano co dwa lata festiwal ogólnopolski.

W 1994 Festiwal uległ istotnym przekształceniom, zyskał rangę międzynarodową i obecnie odbywa się corocznie. Umożliwiło to polskim widzom dostęp do nieznanych, wartościowych i atrakcyjnych obrazów z wielu krajów świata. Festiwal stał się okazją do spotkań filmowców, krytyków, dystrybutorów i pedagogów. Jest nie tylko imprezą, na której prezentuje się i promuje najbardziej wartościowe polskie i zagraniczne filmy fabularne i animowane. Jest również spektakulamym świętem kina.
Festiwalowi towarzyszy bowiem forum dyskusyjne z udziałem twórców i młodych widzów, przeglądy specjalne, warsztaty filmowe, konkursy.

W tegorocznej edycji Festiwalu zaprezentowane zostaną filmy z kilkunastu krajów. Na widowni zasiądzie ponad 10 tysięcy dzieci.

XVII International Festival
of Films for Children "Ale Kino!"

The XVII International Festival of Films for Children "Ale Kino!" is organised by the National Centre of Arts for Children and Young People in co-operation with "Film Art" State Film Institution and "Zamek" Cultural Centre.

The Festival is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture and Art, the State Committee of Polish Cinematography, the City of Poznań and Polish Television SA.

The objective of the Festival is to present and promote valuable films for children, stimulate their distribution and organise a forum for artists, critics, distributors, pedagogues and young audience. The Festival is also a prominent element of the system of cultural education as apart from public screenings for the young audience it also offers numerous educational activities aimed at young people.

The main award of the Festival are Poznań Golden Goats for the best film. In the international competition, the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People CIFEJ awards its own prize. The films are also assessed by children's jury.

The International Festival of Films for Children Ale Kino ! is a unique event of that type in Poland. It has 30-year old tradition: its roots go back to local reviews of animation and children's films organised in Poznań in the 1960s. From 1969, national festival of films was held every two years.

In 1994, the Festival was significantly transformed and acquired an international status. It is now held on an annual basis. Owing to that transformation, the Polish audience has been offered an opportunity to see hitherto unknown, valuable and interesting productions from all around the world. The Festival is also a meeting place for filmmakers, critics, distributors and pedagogues. It is not only an event where Polish and foreign, feature and animation films are screened and promoted. It is also a spectacular celebration of film art, as the Festival is accompanied by special reviews, film workshops, competitions and a discussion forum in which artists and young audience take part.

During this edition of the Festival, films from several countries will be presented. An audience of over ten thousand children and young people is expected.
